Thank You

I had some inspiring help over the weekend from wonderfully articulate and open member of the Young Naturist movement. Their contribution has already influenced the character development and will probably continue to do so. Your stories will hopefully make these books more relevant, more familiar and more entertaining. Big thank you to 'M', the contributor, someone really worth knowing :-}

Introduction

HUMOROUS, TOUCHING, COMPASSIONATE STORIES WRITTEN TO CHALLENGE TABOO

I am writing two fictional stories that loosely deal with the abuse I was subjected to as a child. The stories try to balance the negative experiences I had with professionally held understanding of what normal experiences may have been.

The first book explores the advantages of open communication between adolescents and parents regarding normal sexual development and the anxieties that these experiences can produce. The second book deals with a case of child abuse and relies on the lessons learnt in the first book as a counterbalance in the second.

Naturism is used as a means of qualifying acceptable and unacceptable nudity and attitudes towards both.

Topics covered in the first book include internet stalking, voyeurism, sexual experimentation between peers, parental and social attitudes, Naturism and nudity.

Topics covered in the second book include 'mild' sexual abuse in the past tense, psychological markers for spotting an abused child, psychological impact on the victim and those closest to the victim and a response scenario from those closest to the victim to medical and enforcement agencies.

Both books are written in a friendly open style, with humour and compassion. Adolescent sexual experimentation is described but not with the intention of including eroticism but to highlight it from the viewpoint of natural behaviour. The sexual content is counterbalanced with caution and objective views of acceptance, through to taboo.

By encouraging comment and discussion through this blog I hope to achieve a storyline that goes beyond my particular bias. If you have any comments or observations, experience, anecdotes or just questions on any of the subjects covered please contribute either through the blog or by email.

I am really interested in the Naturist perspective (as I've yet to embrace the experience), parental/career perspective, questions and constructive criticism. I have a point of view but it evolves with knowledge.

**These books put across my interpretation of Naturism, please help me understand if I've got it right or not.**

Excerpt From Draft Manuscript

Naked, forging a path through the water, the light brown haired fifteen year old boy with freckles is pulling forwards with every stroke. He is invigorated by the exercise, being tanned from head to toe and feeling great.

For the first time in years his dad and he aren't spending three weeks together in the summer. Instead they are planning two weeks skying and snowboarding in Klosters this coming Christmas.

With a summer of being at home on the horizon DJ wants to look good for the time he intends to spend on the Naturist Beach at Studland.

Excerpt From Draft Manuscript

Standing in the finished bedroom DJ has his arm over his mum's shoulder.

“Mum...”

“Joseph?”

“This fostering thing, it is going to work out isn't it?”

Elizabeth pauses. The reality of a little boy moving in with more baggage than that which he's carrying is causing her to process her own anxieties. “I'm potentially bringing discord and stress into a happy family and it may be vanity or even arrogance that has led me here; will Charley make us, or in the worst case scenario, break us?” Elizabeth surprises herself profoundly by thinking before she answers... “I wish Frank was here.”

“K sera sera Joseph. It will be what it will be. This is not up to Charley. It's up to us”.

“Before he arrives Mum... tell me what I already know...”

Elizabeth lifts her arm over DJ's shoulder and they are standing side by side, united in the comfort of each other.

“I love you son, you are my pride, my joy and my only baby”.

Tilting his head towards his mum's and resting it on her shoulder he clenches his buttocks and completes the moment by observing, “...sorry, I've just farted”. Recovering his adolescent integrity during an emotional moment.

Seeing DJ collapse on the floor in near hysterical laughter leaves Elizabeth wondering, “why do I bother sometimes?”

As she walks towards the door DJ manages the missing words between heaving breaths, “I... love... you to!”
